Secrets to Staying On Top of AAAIS Deadlines
Independent school deadlines are traditionally the end of January with some supplemental documents (like transcripts, teacher evaluations, and JATP/SSAT reports due mid-February). We work hand-in-hand with families to ensure that all required elements of their applications are processed and submitted well before the deadline. We’re able to accomplish this through a list system that helps highlight action items. Below, we share some tips to help parents stay on top of looming deadlines:
Log onto your student’s Ravenna profile.
Click on School 1. On the right side of your student’s account, you will see required documents. Any item that does not have a green checkmark is “outstanding,” meaning that the school has not yet received the required material.
Write down all missing items for School 1.
Repeat this exercise for remaining schools.
Notice overlaps (ex. Transcript Authorization Form). With APS and other public schools extending the end of their Fall Semester until this Friday, January 15th, some families are in a “holding” period” to request transcripts until after the MLK holiday. Still, knowing when best to request this required piece of information is helpful. Sending in a single transcript request form to your child’s current school (and checking off which schools are on your student’s Ravenna account for application) is the most seamless and efficient way to accomplish this.
Notice all the deadlines for outstanding items. We recommend adding these dates to your digital calendar (with a reminder 1-2 days prior).
